This came across my facebook feed (again)
While flannelberry is all about the cozy, the comfy, the snuggly, and encouraging that, I’m also a textile artists (seems to oh la la to say that) and I know fibre. Honestly, this is going to look good for a day, especially if you use white. It’s going to pick up every bit of a lint, pet hair, random bits of fluff, and then it’s going to pill. It’s a cute and great idea but it’s not one that’s going to last. For me, this is just another one of those short cut things. If you want something homemade, just learn how to make the thing; don’t look for the shortcut/last minute work around. And I assure you, I am the queen of the last minute/work around gift, if this was a good idea, I’d be all over. But it’s really, really not. It’s a waste of time, money, and fibre that could be better used in so many ways.
If you want to make a wool blanket or wrap, go to your LYS (local yarn store) and get some help in getting started. You can get some large needles and super chunky yarn and knit (or crochet) something that will last almost as quickly as making that arm knitting thing.
